Details of the study programme
• Classes are on Sundays between 9am-1pm (with a break half way through).
• Anyone with basic understanding of Buddha’s teachings and a sincere wish to learn and deepen their practice can join FP. During the class the teacher reads from the book and gives a commentary which the students then discuss, contemplate and try to practice in their daily life.
• The book we're studying is Eight Steps to Happiness by Geshe Kelsang - Gyatso – a very accessible explanation of the practice of loving kindness.
• The venue is in Mile End, at Thebarton Neighbourhood House, 10 Falcon Avenue. Go to "FP-venue" for more details.
• FP classes include: Chanted Prayers; Meditations; Systematic Study; Paired and Group Discussion.
• To enrol, a student will be required to purchase a Meditation In Adelaide Card. For a $70 monthly fee this card covers the cost of FP as well as attending any evening classes and day courses held in Adelaide.
• There is an exam at the end of each book. The exam is mainly to give students a focus for revision and a chance to see how well they have remembered certain key parts of the book. The results are confidential and you can keep studying FP no matter what you score!
