Blessing Empowerment and Commentary to the practice of Green Tara.
A blessing empowerment is a special Buddhist ceremony where we make a strong connection with an enlightened being, allowing us to develop good qualities through their blessings and wisdom.
We are very pleased to be able to invite the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director for Australia and New Zealand, Gen Kelsang Rabten (pictured), to grant this empowerment. He is able to share his experience with a warm heart and deeply engaging manner. 
Gen Rabten teaches at KMCA in Melbourne and throughout Australia and New Zealand.
There will be a day retreat in SEPTEMBER • Introduction to Tantra for anyone who would like some some insight into Tara and tantra in general. It is not neccesary to attend this day retreat if you wish to attend the empowerment.
Tara is the female Buddha of swift compassion. Because she is a wisdom Buddha and a manifestation of the wind element, she is able to help us swiftly. Tara’s name means 'rescuer', and indeed she has the power to rescue and protect all living beings.
Tara is our holy mother who protects us from immediate dangers and guides us in our personal and spiritual development. Just like a mother, she provides us with all the necessary conditions for our spiritual training, and inspires us with her blessings.
By relying on her, we gain protection, increase our wisdom, and our ability to help and protect others.
Everyone welcome; no experience necessary.

The empowerment will be held at the Fullarton Park Centre, 411 Fullarton Park Road (see below for a map). There is an hour's break for lunch. Bring a plate for a shared meal or stroll to the cafe just up the road.
Cost is $40 on the day or $35 if you pre-book. You can

The Fullarton Park Centre is located at 411 Fullarton Rd in Fullarton.
It is located in between Glen Osmond Rd and Cross Rd and is easily accessed via Bus Route 171 or 145. Visit the Metro Journey Planner to plot your route.
Finding the room

The Fullarton park Centre has a number of rooms. The room we use is the Parkview Room. If you're facing the front of the building it's on the left hand side, about halfway down. There are little posters up on the walls with arrows pointing the way too.
