Frequently Asked Questions about evening classes
Do I have to book?
No, the classes are drop-in, just turn up 10 minutes before they start.
Do I have to attend all the classes?
No, the classes are part of a series, but each one is self-contained. Even if you just attend one you'll be able to take something from the class.
Do I have to sit on the floor?
No, we provide chairs. (Although you can sit on the floor if you want to: maybe bring a cushion.)
I've never meditated before: is that OK?
That's fine, you don't need any experience of meditation to get something from these classes.
I've meditated before but it was with a different group.
That can be helpful. Come along with an open mind and try not to let your previous experiences block you from enjoying what you hear.
I tried meditation before but I was hopeless.
Give yourself a break! Learning anything takes time, the most important thing is to be interested and try to keep a light, positive attitude. Everything else will come naturally with this as a basis.
I'm not a Buddhist, is that OK?
That's fine. Attending a class doesn't mean you have to agree with what the teacher says. If you hear something that's useful to you then feel free to use it in whatever way suits you best.
What if I'm running late?
Come anyway, just try and be quiet when entering the room. And please turn off your mobile phone before you come in!
I've got so many more questions!
Come to the class and ask them there. We love questions.
